Russian Culture Channel
Progulki po Brodveiu was an AVA-media produced, scripted, filmed, and edited 30-minute bi-weekly show, with in-depth coverage of various cultural events in New York City and across the country authored by Vasily Arkanov. The show consisted of one 26-min. segment, or two 13-min. segments, or three 8-min. segments – each focused on its own topic. Each segment within a show was written, anchored and sometimes produced by me. Examples include:
§ 26-min segment on 2005 Pen World Voices Literary Festival (April 17-23, 2005). Interviews with Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood, Jonathan Franzen, Andre Makine, Oksana Zabuzhko
§ Two 13-min. segments juxtaposing life and work of two very different masters of photography: the “first paparazzi” Ron Galella and the artist and creator of Nomadic Museum Gregory Colbert
§ Three 8 min. segments on un-orthodox use of the various city venues.
o Tribeca Film Festival using the streets of New York as its ground
o Yuri Temirkanov’s St.Petersburg Philarmonic Orchestra performing at the UN
o Cellist Matt Hamovitz performing Bach fugues at the famous New York City rock venue CBGB
